The best way to keep a rug clean is to keep it from getting dirty in the first place. Removing outdoor shoes when entering the house (as people do in most rug-weaving countries) is a good idea if this accords with your lifestyle. Bare-foot or sock-foot traffic is much gentler to a rug than a hard outdoor-shoe sole (or spike heel), and leaving your outdoor shoes at the entrance to the house tracks in much less dirt…

FiberCare is an invisible, long-lasting finish that protects against spots, stains and spills. FiberCare works by impregnating fibers with co-polymer resins in a mineral spirit base. This means dust and dirt can’t get trapped within the fiber. Spills can be easily blotted up, dirt and grit can be more effectively removed by vacuuming or damp dusting, thereby, increasing fiber life. FiberCare can be applied to all fibers, new and old, even those that have been temporarily protected with mill level finishes such as Scotchguard or Teflon. FiberCare protects against both oil-base and water-base stains…

Most curtains, whether they’re casual cotton or fancier damask, are made of woven fabrics that gather dust, pet hair and dander, even mold spores. Over time, these things accumulate, and your window treatments start to look dingy.
Rayon rugs are difficult to clean. As they continue to grow in popularity, be prepared.
Cleaners have encountered rayon in upholstery fabric for years. But designers also, unfortunately, increasingly embrace the silk-like look of rayon for rugs.
Rayon rugs present many cleaning challenges. This fiber does not hold up to foot traffic or consumer, do-it-yourself spotting/cleaning. Professional cleaning may exacerbate pre-existing texture distortion and sprouting…
We’re seeing a trend of area rugs being made of viscose. We talk about what they are and why they are difficult to clean…
How to Clean Area Rugs
Viscose, or art silk, has the same soft, luxurious look and feel as silk, but at a much more affordable price.
Viscose is extremely absorbent so remove stains using a damp cloth and a mild cleanser. For tough stains, use the stain solution suggested above and gently apply the foam that rises to the top to the stained area. Blot with a clean damp cloth to finish. Try to keep a viscose rug in a cool and dry location…
What do artificial silk, art. silk, banana silk, viscose, bamboo silk, allo silk, cactus silk, soya silk, modal, cuprammonium, lyocell, triacetate, and acetate have in common? They are all a type of rayon manufactured from regenerated cellulose.

In addition, they were attentive, kind, honest, professional and responsible!” – Paige”

Here’s the thing about carpeting: the plush, dense fibers we love to feel underfoot are also really great at clinging to dust, dirt, smoke, pet odor, and whatever other grime comes through the door.
This carpet cleaner was great. No discoloration, no sticky feeling on your feet after its been cleaned, no sticky feeling when pouring it. No awful, toxic chemical smell, just a nice fresh scent and powerful cleaning abilities. I tried it, as directions said, with 1 oz per 1 gallon of water and used my upright steam cleaning carpet shampooer. You could see the difference after one go over, and more so when I was finished. My carpet is cleaner than it has been in a long time. I really like this cleaner. It got my Very Dirty Carpets clean again!
