To celebrate the launch of our new Kismet Lounge collection, we had our resident DJ and music industry heavy-hitter, @TheSextonReview, create a killer playlist… We can’t stop listening to it in the Seattle & Dallas studios. You need this playlist in your life…
Fine linen and wool textiles spun and woven by boutique mills in Belgium and Italy filter light through metallic threads, unique burnout patterns and embroideries done by hand. These serene and neutral colors, which allow maximum natural light to flood in, are available in wide widths of 118 inches for sheers that cover today’s expansive windows.
Welcome the undulating shapes, textural feel and deep tonal colorations of this new line of Sunbrella fabrics by Beacon Hill. Like the ever-changing hues of our sky, these sun-and-stain resistant, bleach cleanable fabrics bring compelling atmosphere to spaces inside and out. The tapestry constructions, chenilles and boucles lead to stunning effects.
Wool & Cashmere Solids
Sourced from New Zealand, Chile and Italy, Beacon Hill introduces the finest lambswool, cashmere and baby camel fabrics. Lending themselves to light upholstery and drapery applications, these twills, sateens and herringbones span neutral, blue and blush hues for a truly exquisite and inviting collection.
“When my customers call for fabric protection they have a furnishing they have invested in and want to protect. They’ve invested time in choosing the fabric, they’ve invested energy in finding the perfect piece of furniture for their room and they’ve invested money to buy this perfect piece. I know that. It is my job to carefully protect those pieces and teach my customer how to keep their furnishings looking great and lasting longer.”

Robert Allen Designer Showhouse
From the living room by Robert Frank to this loggia by Ederra Design Studio, the Pasadena Showcase House of Design was full of Robert Allen and Beacon Hill fabrics. For their concept, “Cocktails at Five,” designers Cynthia Lambakis and Samantha Williams used indoor/outdoor patterns in navy and turquoise hues from our new Wanderlust and Cloudscape collections.
“We wanted the fabrics to be sophisticated… blurring the lines between the interior and exterior spaces.”
Sheers enhanced the “living room” feel and framed the view for a happy hour setting as dreamy as the movie La La Land—which you may recognize the loggia from.

After the bed was delivered, the designer reported back to us that it looked “amazing”. Please relay our thanks and appreciation to them. They saved the day for us.” – Diane Wood
“My decorator recommended FiberCare and The Cleaning Company to me several years ago, so my expectations for their quality of work was high from the outset. What I did not know initially was that their customer service and follow through are equally as pleasing. Last week they shampooed wall-to-wall carpets in 5 rooms, a staircase and hallway with amazing results. The workers were professional, polite and very capable. When it comes to care and cleaning of fine furniture and carpeting, FiberCare and The Cleaning Company is a winner!”. – Debbie Stack, Dallas, TX

To clean your painted walls, Carl Minchew, director of Product Development at Benjamin Moore, suggests starting with a clean cloth or sponge and water. If that doesn’t work, dip the rag or sponge into water mixed with a little dishwashing liquid, the milder the better.
If the stain persists, apply a few drops of soap directly onto the wet sponge or cloth you’re using. For more stubborn cases, you could apply a little soap right onto the stain.
If you need to resort to a stronger product like Fantastik or Formula 409, realize they have strong solvents in them and can soften the paint surface. Make sure that whatever you do to get rid of the stain, you rinse the wall afterward with plain water.
If you own a boat, keep your seats and benches covered when not in use, especially if you don store the boat in a covered facility. This should be in addition to any whole boat covering you may have.
When you take your boat out of storage, clean the upholstery before you resume taking people out. After that, clean it based on frequency of use, but at least once every two weeks.
If you live in an area with sandy soil, you should vacuum more frequently. The sand particles sink to the bottom of the carpet and act like glass, cutting through the carpet fibers and speeding up its deterioration.
Does your upholstery have deep stains that are difficult to remove? Hiring a professional cleaning company is the best way to remove stains from materials such as ink, blood, tomato sauce, wine, and grease.
Did you know that a professional cleaning company requires its employees to receive training certifications and undergo continuous instruction to maintain their certifications from certain professional organizations? Ask about the training requirements for a cleaning professional.
Do you need to eliminate odors from your furniture? Using carpet and upholstery deodorizers with baking soda is one of the best ways to get rid of unpleasant odors. You can even use plain baking soda in some cases, since it can trap the invisible molecules that cause the odors.
One of the best ways to give your carpet a deep cleaning is to steam clean it. This is also known as hot water extraction and involves using a mixture of hot water and detergent to remove dirt and debris from your carpets.
When you purchase your sofa or chair, ask the retailer for an extra set of arm covers. That way, you always have a set available when it is time to clean the ones in use.
Did you know window blinds can help you save money on your utility bill? In the summer, direct sunlight on windows forces your cooling system to work harder. Blinds can lower the temperature in your home by blocking sunlight.
When you change your vacuum cleaner’s bag, take a minute to look inside for loose carpet fibers. If you see clumps of the material, your cleaner is not cleaning deeply enough. Consider changing to a more powerful vacuum cleaner.
